Report: Ecuador sees oil freeze meeting in Russia on Mar 20–25
MOSCOW, Mar 9 (PRIME) -- A meeting of oil producing states, including OPEC and non-OPEC countries, will take place in Russia on March 20–25, Bloomberg reported Wednesday citing Ecuador’s Oil Minister Carlos Pareja.
On Friday, oil producing countries of Latin America will hold a meeting to find a consensus over the oil freeze necessity, he said.
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said earlier in March that the meeting could take place from March 20 until April 1 either in a Russian city, or in Doha or Vienna.
In February, Novak agreed to freeze oil output with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Venezuela. Some other countries joined the initiative, while the U.S. and Iran refused to participate.
